"The Quest for Authentic Manhood" is the foundational level or ground floor of manhood. This 24-session study focuses on a man’s core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood issues.

It will help men deal with various identity issues by looking at culture, past wounds and other influences that sometimes distort their idea of biblical masculinity.

Men will learn how to clearly define manhood and will finally be able to give a succinct and passionate answer to the questions, "What is a man?" and "What am I living to be?" This captivating journey helps men:

  • Resolve wounds from their past
  • Embrace a biblical definition of manhood
  • Develop their own personal manhood plan
  • Grow as guides and mentors for other guys

Pastor Tobin and others will be the facilitators in our large group teaching time, followed by small group breakouts for discussion, encouragement, and prayer.

Men’s Fraternity, developed by Pastor Robert Lewis of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, is the most widely used men's study in the States.

The Band of Brothers

Men become men in the company of men. That, quite simply, is the purpose of the Men’s Ministry at Island ECC, aka "The Band of Brothers".

It’s tempting to believe that we’re strong enough to handle life on our own, but the truth is that we as men are most vulnerable when we’re isolated from other men. When God’s Man stumbles it is almost always because he’s alone and disconnected from other believers who can help him through.

We all need brothers we can trust, a group of men who will help us face our fears, our trials, and our secrets. We need a place of security, support, growth, and accountability. We need a place in The Band.
