Knowing God's Truth in the Scientific Age

Class Description: A brief survey of the main issues involved in the controversy of science versus biblical creation will be given. The first week focuses on cosmology, particularly the beginning of the universe. The second week discusses the problems of the Darwinian evolution theory. The biblical context is Genesis 1-2. The class is aimed at the average laypersons. No prerequisite is required. The hope is that the attendees will gain a simple understanding of the major issues involved and be able to have an intelligent reply to scientifically aware seekers.
About the Speaker: Dr. Alfred Tang graduated from MIT in 1987 with a Bachelor Degree in Physics. After MIT, he went to Talbot School of Theology in Biola University to study Theology and Philosophy. After completing his M.Div. and Th.M. degrees at Talbot, he decided to re-enter Physics. In 2002, he received a Ph.D. in Physics from University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Since then, he had done postdoc jobs in major universities in the US and Hong Kong. Currently, he is working on scientific apologetics and technology solutions to certain global problems.
